Stingray [Dasyatis]
Description
Dasyatis stingrays are classic reef and sandy-bottom visitors, often gliding smoothly just above the substrate. Divers may spot them partially buried in sand, then watch as they “wake up” and sweep their wings to move away—usually calm, but always best observed without approaching.
