Southern Stingray [Dasyatis americana]
Description
Southern stingrays are often spotted gliding just above sandy or muddy bottoms, sometimes with their wingsfins gently undulating as they cruise. Divers may see them partially buried in the sand, using their senses to locate prey while remaining remarkably calm and well-camouflaged.
