Thalia longicauda [Thalia longicauda]
Description
Divers may spot this pelagic tunicate as a small, translucent “jelly-like” body drifting in open water. When it’s actively swimming, it can look like a delicate, flickering organism as it propels itself through the water column. It’s most noticeable in plankton-rich conditions where the water feels alive with tiny life.
