Description

Salpidae are barrel-shaped, gelatinous drifters that can appear in swarms, especially in open-water or current-rich areas. Divers may see them as translucent chains or clusters moving with the flow, sometimes creating a shimmering effect in the light. They’re easy to overlook until you spot the coordinated movement of many individuals together.
