Salps [Salpida]
Description
Salps are transparent, barrel-shaped drifters that can form long chains—sometimes creating shimmering, moving “strings” in the water. Divers may notice them as a moving pattern in the midwater, especially during plankton blooms when the water seems alive with tiny life.
