Odontodactylus japonicus [Odontodactylus japonicus]
Description
This species is commonly associated with sheltered reef habitats, where it can retreat quickly if disturbed. Divers may notice it as a compact, armored predator that peeks out and then snaps back into cover with impressive speed. Its distinctive mantis-like stance and energetic behavior make it an exciting find during reef dives.
