Nautilus vitiensis [Nautilus vitiensis]
Description
This nautilus is often seen as a ghostly, slow-moving spiral drifting above deeper bottoms. Divers may notice its distinctive shell pattern and the way it extends multiple tentacles to explore the water before pulling them back, giving it a surprisingly graceful, living “craft” feel.
