Metapenaeus insolitus [Metapenaeus insolitus]
Description
Metapenaeus insolitus is another bottom-dwelling shrimp that tends to stay close to the seafloor, where it can forage and hide. Divers might spot it during brief moments of activity—moving along the substrate or pausing to feed—before it slips away. Careful buoyancy and avoiding sediment clouds make it much easier to detect these subtle prawns.
