Description

Penaeid shrimps are often seen scuttling over sandy or muddy bottoms, using their speed to vanish into the substrate when disturbed. Divers may notice them as small, shrimp-like flashes near seagrass edges or along channel bottoms, sometimes emerging briefly to forage.
