Hyalinoecia papillata [Hyalinoecia papillata]
Description
This species can look like a cluster of tiny, delicate projections or papillae on a hard surface, often with a translucent, glass-like appearance. Divers who slow down near rocks, boulders, or attached marine growth may notice it as a small “texture” patch that becomes more obvious with a beam of light. It’s a great example of how even the smallest colonies can add intricate detail to the seascape.
