Urogymnus acanthobothrium [Urogymnus acanthobothrium]
Description
A larger, more powerful-looking stingray, this species is typically encountered over deeper sandy or muddy areas where it can be harder to spot at first. When it does appear, divers may see a broad body gliding low to the bottom, with the ray’s movements looking smooth and purposeful as it forages.
