Porcupine Ray [Urogymnus asperrimus]
Description
Porcupine rays are large, flat-bodied rays that often rest on sandy or muddy bottoms, blending in with the seafloor. Divers may notice their rough, pebbly skin and the way they “breathe” through subtle movements, then watch as they kick up sand and glide away.
