Chambered Nautilus [Nautilus pompilius]

Chambered Nautilus
Description

A chambered nautilus looks like a living spiral shell, with its tentacles reaching out from the coils as it searches the water column. Divers are usually treated to a slow, deliberate “float” as it moves with a subtle, jet-like rhythm—an ancient-looking animal that feels almost prehistoric.
