Papuensis Shrimp [Metapenaeus papuensis]
Description
Papuensis shrimp are small prawns associated with coastal and reef-adjacent sandy or muddy habitats. Divers sometimes spot them as they emerge to feed, but they usually vanish into the bottom when approached, making them a fun “blink-and-you-miss-it” find.
