Macleay’s Shrimp [Metapenaeus macleayi]
Description
Macleay’s shrimp are benthic prawns that spend much of their time close to the bottom, using camouflage to avoid predators. Divers may see them during slow passes over sandy areas, where they can appear as small, moving silhouettes before slipping back into the substrate.
