Greasyback Shrimp [Metapenaeus ensis]
Description
Greasyback Shrimp get their common name from their distinctive appearance, which can look slightly glossy or “oily” compared with other prawns. Divers may notice them as they cruise close to the bottom, then pause as they sift through sediment for food. They’re typically most visible when the seafloor is stirred gently by currents or your fin movements.
