Metapenaeus eboracensis [Metapenaeus eboracensis]
Description
This species is a seabed-associated prawn that divers usually encounter by scanning sandy or muddy areas. When present, you may see it as a small, quick-moving shrimp that blends in with the substrate until it suddenly shifts position. Because they’re often cryptic, slow, controlled movements and good light help reveal them.
