Metapenaeus bennettae [Metapenaeus bennettae]
Description
Bennettae’s metapenaeus is a small shrimp that lives close to the substrate, making it easy to miss unless you’re watching carefully. When divers hover over sandy patches, these shrimp may appear as quick flashes of movement before slipping back into the bottom. Their presence adds a lively, “hidden life” feel to the seafloor ecosystem.
