Leptoecia ultraabyssalis [Leptoecia ultraabyssalis]
Description
As its name suggests, this species is associated with extremely deep habitats where light is scarce. Divers who explore deep wrecks or unusual deep-water sites may see small, subtle fish silhouettes that appear to “hang” in the water column, often staying close to structure or the bottom.
