Hyalinoecia varians [Hyalinoecia varians]
Description
Hyalinoecia varians can be a bit more variable in how its colonies look, but divers commonly find it as a translucent hydroid growth attached to rocks or other hard surfaces. Depending on lighting and current, it may appear as a mix of fine branches and delicate, glassy filaments. It’s a great “slow down and look closely” species—small, beautiful, and easy to miss at first glance.
