Hyalinoecia tenuissima [Hyalinoecia tenuissima]
Description
As its name suggests, Hyalinoecia tenuissima is extremely delicate, with very fine, translucent branches that can look almost like a faint web. Divers often encounter it in sheltered areas where currents are gentle enough for the colony to remain visible. Look closely and you may see subtle movement as the hydroid sways and filters food from the water.
