Closed Brain Coral [Favia]
Description
Closed Brain Coral is recognizable by its tightly packed, maze-like pattern of corallites that often appear more “closed” than open. Divers may see a dense, textured surface with small, repeating chambers, giving it a classic brain-coral look. At rest, the coral’s polyps may be less obvious, but the intricate pattern stands out clearly.
