Golf Ball Coral [Favia fragum]

Golf Ball Coral
Description

Divers often notice this coral as a cluster of rounded, “golf ball” like bumps that sit tightly together. Each dome is made of small coral mouths, and the surface can look subtly textured and patterned as light filters through the water. In good visibility, it’s a satisfying coral to watch as small fish and invertebrates use the nooks for cover.
