Knob Coral [Favia gravida]
Description
Knob Coral forms thick, bumpy mounds with distinct raised corallites that give it a rugged, knobbly look. Under the right angle of sunlight, the coral’s surface can appear almost sculpted, with shadows emphasizing its texture. Divers may also spot tiny reef dwellers tucked into the crevices between the knobs.
