Threadfin Butterflyfish [Chaetodon auriga]
Description
Threadfin Butterflyfish are delicate-looking fish with bright yellow and white markings and long, threadlike extensions on their fins. Divers frequently see them hovering near coral branches, picking at small invertebrates and algae. Their graceful, “hover-and-nibble” behavior and vivid colors make them a standout sight on many reefs.
