Butterflyfishes [Chaetodontidae]
Description
Butterflyfishes are among the most recognizable reef fish, often showing vivid patterns and contrasting colors. Many species are closely associated with coral and feed on small invertebrates, so divers may spot them hovering near coral heads or darting in short bursts to inspect crevices.
