Striated Hermit Crab [Dardanus arrosor]
Description
This striated hermit crab is a common sight on rocky bottoms and among shell rubble, where it patrols slowly in search of food. Divers often notice its banded, striped look and the way it tucks into its borrowed shell when disturbed. With a little patience, you may see it “reposition” its shell or scuttle along the substrate like a tiny armored traveler.
