Stonefish [Synanceia verrucosa]

Stonefish
Description

Stonefish are masters of camouflage, looking like a lumpy piece of reef rock until they move. Divers should watch carefully along the seafloor—this fish can be hard to spot, and its venomous spines make it a “look but don’t touch” encounter.
