Stonefish [Synanceia]
Description
Stonefish are masters of camouflage, often blending into sandy or rocky bottoms with mottled, bumpy skin that looks like the seafloor. Divers may spot them only when they notice a subtle shape or a slow shift in posture—then realize how well the fish disappears against the substrate.
