Southern chiton [Belknapchiton australis]

Southern chiton
Description

This chiton is typically found on rocky coastlines, where it adheres firmly to hard surfaces. Divers often see it as a compact, segmented shell with a distinct outline, sometimes tucked into cracks where waves and currents can’t easily dislodge it.
