Shield hermit crab [Dardanus scutellatus]
Description
Dardanus scutellatus is a shell-dwelling crab that tends to blend into the textured seascape around rocks and rubble. Underwater, divers can sometimes spot it peeking from its shell and shuffling along the bottom, using its antennae to scan for cues in the water.
