Sea Thread Hydroid [Obelia dichotoma]
Description
Divers often notice this hydroid as delicate, threadlike colonies that can form soft, branching fans or tufts on rocks and other hard surfaces. When you look closely, the colony’s tiny polyps give it a subtly “fuzzy” look, and it can sway gently with the current. It’s a great example of how even small, reef-adjacent life can create complex underwater textures.
