Reptant organ pipe coral [Tubipora reptans]
Description
Unlike upright forms, this species often grows in a more spreading, creeping pattern, creating low, branching tube mats. Divers can spot it as a textured patchwork of tubes that follows the contours of the reef. In clear water, the contrast between the tube openings and the coral’s colored skeleton makes it a rewarding subject for close-up viewing.
