Renilla octodentata [Renilla octodentata]
Description
This soft coral often presents as a compact, fan-like or lobed colony attached to the seafloor. Up close, divers can observe the fine, repeating structure of its polyps, which gives the colony a delicate, almost lace-like surface. It’s usually most noticeable when you slow down and look for small, living textures on rocks or other hard bottom.
