Description

The Red Slime Star is a species of starfish found in the North Pacific Ocean. It's commonly found on soft substrates at depths of 18 to 549 meters. The species has a circular shaped body with a diameter of up to 20 centimeters. It's red-orange in color with a thick, slimy epidermis that can be shed as a defense mechanism against predators.
