Pteraster personatus [Pteraster personatus]
Description
Divers may recognize this species by its cushion-star shape and the way its surface texture can look patterned or “masked” from certain angles. It’s commonly found on the seafloor, where it blends in with rock and sediment while it slowly patrols for food.
