Obscure Cushion Star [Pteraster obscurus]
Description
Often seen clinging to rocky bottoms, this cushion star looks like a low, rounded “pillow” of thick arms. Divers may notice its textured surface and muted coloration, which helps it blend into the seafloor while it slowly feeds along the substrate.
