North Australian Wobbegong [Orectolobus wardi]
Description
Wobbegongs are masters of camouflage, and divers often spot them resting on the seafloor like a living patch of reef. With their broad, fringed heads and mottled patterns, they may look almost like rocks until they slowly shift or open their mouths to feed. If you’re lucky, you’ll see them tucked into crevices where their whisker-like barbels help detect passing prey.
