Carpet Sharks [Orectolobiformes]
Description
Carpet sharks are masters of camouflage, often resting on the seafloor with mottled patterns that blend into sand, rubble, or reef. Divers may spot their distinctive, relaxed posture—sometimes with eyes and mouth visible—before they slowly shift or glide away.
