Nonfurcata Goose Barnacle [Lepas (Nonfurcata) nonfurcata]
Description
Often found on floating material, this goose barnacle can be seen when divers swim near the surface or around floating debris. Its long, stalked form and extended feeding structures make it look like a tiny underwater “tree,” filtering plankton as currents bring food within reach.
