Madagascar Nylon Shrimp [Heterocarpus dorsalis]
Description
Often spotted on deeper, sandy or muddy bottoms, this shrimp looks like a delicate thread of life—slender, translucent, and surprisingly quick to vanish into the substrate. Divers may notice it hovering just above the seafloor or tucked into small crevices, especially when the bottom is stirred by currents.
