Lepas (Lepas) atrocollis [Lepas (Lepas) atrocollis]
Description
Like other Lepas goose barnacles, this species is most often seen on floating objects, where it lives as a drifting filter-feeder. Divers may spot the stalked shell and, if conditions are right, observe the feeding appendages fanning out to capture plankton carried by the current.
