Lepas elongata [Lepas (Lepas) elongata]
Description
Lepas elongata can appear as a longer, more stretched-looking goose barnacle on floating surfaces. Underwater, divers may notice the barnacle’s stalk and the distinctive feeding appendages that protrude from the shell opening. The cirri act like a living net, capturing tiny particles as water flows past.
