Joker's Boomerang Coral [Polyphyllia novaehiberniae]
Description
Divers often spot this coral as a series of bold, boomerang-shaped ridges that form a dramatic, textured surface. It’s a stony coral that grows in sturdy, plate-like forms, creating a natural sheltering spot for small reef life. In good light, the ridges can look especially striking against the surrounding sand or rubble.
