Heterocarpus lepidus [Heterocarpus lepidus]
Description
Divers may spot this deep-water shrimp as a small, semi-transparent crustacean hovering close to the seafloor or drifting just above it. With its slender body and delicate feelers, it often appears more like a quick flicker than a “big” animal—especially when it darts away at the first hint of disturbance.
