Heterocarpus inopinatus [Heterocarpus inopinatus]
Description
As a deep-water Heterocarpus, it’s usually found away from bright, shallow reefs, where light fades and the bottom becomes the main feature. Divers who spend time over sandy or muddy ground may spot it near the substrate—subtle at first, then more noticeable as it slowly shifts position.
