Heterocarpus hayashii [Heterocarpus hayashii]
Description
This deep-water shrimp is typically encountered on soft substrates where it can be surprisingly hard to notice at first. With a careful look—especially around the edges of sandy patches—divers may see it drifting or creeping along the bottom, giving a delicate, almost ghostlike impression.
