Heterocarpus corona [Heterocarpus corona]
Description
Heterocarpus corona is a deep-sea shrimp that may be spotted in areas with mixed bottom types—rocky patches, rubble, or sedimented slopes. Divers often notice it by its gentle hovering behavior and quick, tail-driven escapes when light or bubbles draw attention. In low-light conditions, it can look almost ghostlike against the darker background.
