Hanleyella asiatica [Hanleyella asiatica]
Description
Hanleyella asiatica is a small chiton-like mollusk that typically lives on or near hard substrates in coastal waters. Divers may encounter it as a tiny, armored grazer that stays close to the rock, feeding on the thin film of algae. It’s easy to overlook, but careful observation of rock surfaces can reveal its presence.
