Green Elysia [Elysia viridis]
Description
Divers often spot the Green Elysia as a small, leaf-like sea slug clinging to algae-covered rocks. Its bright green coloration comes from the photosynthetic ability of the algae it incorporates, so it can look almost like a living piece of seaweed. Look for slow, deliberate movements and a subtle “camouflage” effect against green turf algae.
